Welcome
A little about ourselves
Black Prince SAS was set up in 2012 to continue running the existing District Scout Hikes once Bexleyheath District merged and became part of the new Bexley District.
In 2015 we added a new event, Evade & Capture, where as well as navigation teams also had to avoid being captured en route.
In 2017 we will be re-introducing the Pegasus Hike, a night hike of 9 to 12 miles for the Explorer Scout section.

Recent NewsEvade & Capture III
The first of our 2017 hikes took place in Sussex in April with 1st Baldwyns Park narrowly winning - both they and Old Bexley were caught only once throughout the day but they won by virtue of being 13 minutes quicker in arriving at the Safe House. As always many thanks to all of the Leaders, SAS members and Explorer Scouts who came along to be part of the Red Army - the event simply wouldn't work without you. Haslehurst Hike 2016 Many congratulations to Old Bexley Scouts who won October's Haslehurst Hike to complete a clean sweep of wins in the 2016 navigation competitions and become the 8th different winner of the Haslehurst Hike in the past 10 years. Congratulations also to 5th / 7th Bexleyheath who won the junior competition again for a remarkable 7th year in a row. As always, many thanks to all the Leaders and Young Leaders who gave up their weekend to help at HQ, run checkpoints or walk with the junior teams. Patrol Hike Challenge Congratulations to Old Bexley Scouts who followed up their win at Evade & Capture by also winning the Patrol Hike Challenge in June. Congratulations also to 1st Bridgen Cubs who won the Sixers Hike Challenge for older Cubs who walk their route with a Leader. Full results can be found on the Results page. Evade & Capture II Well done to all teams who took part in Evade & Capture II at the start of April, especially the 3 teams that made it to the Safe House in under 6 hours unaided and congratulations to the winning team from Old Bexley who were caught only once all day. Haslehurst Hike Congratulations to 4th Barnehurst Impeesa who finished 1st and 2nd in the Haslehurst Hike over the weekend of 24 / 25 October 2015. Also congratulations to 5th/7th Bexleyheath who won the Junior Competition for a remarkable 6th year in a row. And well done to all of the teams taking part - each and every one of them walking back round to HQ and no teams needing to be picked up en route by the minibus. |
