the eventThe Patrol Hike Challenge started in 1992 to run alongside the Haslehurst Hike and is an annual day incident hike for the Scouts covering between 6 and 8 miles where teams all walk unaccompanied.
It was renamed the Howard Morgan Patrol Hike in 2017 in memory of Howard who sadly passed away in May of that year and who continues to be much missed by so many - as detailed on the next page. In 2022 we introduced a 2nd competition for younger Scout teams to walk accompanied with a Leader - the Woodstock Hike, named after Edward of Woodstock 'the Black Prince' The Hike didn't run between 2000 and 2003 but generally occurs on the 2nd Sunday of June each year.
