THE EVENTLaunched in 2015 as a new event for Scouts they had a maximum of 5 hours to navigate themselves to the finish point which was approximately 7 miles away.
Each team was given 300 Roubles to start with and the aim was to evade capture by the Red Army of Leaders and Explorers who were out looking for them on foot and in vehicles. The winning team would be the one who made it to the finish within the 5 hours with the most money intact after paying any fines incurred. If 2 teams finished with the same money then places would be determined by the time taken from start to finish. In 2015 no team finished within the 5 hour timescale and therefore the results were entirely dependent on the sum of money still held. With a few minor tweaks Evade & Capture II ran in April 2016 and 2017's Evade & Capture III saw the first time that the winning team was decided by the time taken as they had finished equal on money returned. In 2020 Evade & Capture was the first to be cancelled at the outset of the COVID-19 from March and in 2021, with many restrictions still in place, the event was run via Zoom using an online Panic Room and House of Spies Quiz. In 2022 we were pleased to be able to run face to face again, with a rebranded Pink Army due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
